More Art Inspiration

I have always had a soft spot for the work of the French ancien régime artist Hubert Robert. Any stop at the Art Institute of Chicago or the National Gallery in D.C. invariably has me making a beeline for his large moody canvases.

They positively drip the forgotten glories of dark fantasy and rarely fail to inspire me to take another turn at mapping vast sprawling ruined cities.

  1. Nice...these might wind up in my art inspiration series. I also am glad to see I'm not the only one who liked the Glorantha dragon image.
